The winter is here so soon! Well you may be able to use this time to create ideas about next years garden have a journal or diary full of your great ideas to help keep you enthusiastic for the work to be done ahead! Compare your new journal or diary with last years' and see what changes, if any, you may want to do. As you do this you may want to look out your window and be comforted to know that your well kept winterized garden that may be blanketed in snow is also well insulated and protected!
You may want to ensure the bulbs you have started such as daffodils, hyacinths or tulips for winter flowering are moist and still in the dark, until their root systems have developed. If you have started some in early autumn they may be ready to be placed in indirect light for a few days then placing them in direct light after this is fine. Just remember a cool room is best for their development! Remind yourself to check on any stored corms or tubers to ensure they are still healthy and alright.
It is now time to think about Christmas presents for your family, friends and yourself! A visit to Diana's Garden Centre to stroll around and ask about any ideas you may have is welcomed! So get out your pen or pencil and write down some ideas or questions! The staff at Diana's Garden Centre will be proud to ensure that your heart is filled with the joy of gardening! Have a great holiday's and see you next year!!
